Chrysler Group advertising is "the new gold standard in automotive advertising," Forbes.com wrote. GM said it "can't justify the expense" for 2013 Super Bowl ads, Forbes.com said. The real issue, according to columnist Micheline Maynard is that in order to "make an impact now, you've got to top Chrysler."
This week, Chrysler and its advertising agency, Wieden + Kennedy, were the Grand Effie award winners for the company's "Imported from Detroit," commercial, the Detroit Free Press reported. Effie awards are among the most prestigious in the ad industry because of a rigorous judging process, the story said.
The secret to Chrysler's buzz in the Super Bowl is that it is focusing on its values to distinguish itself from the competition, explained Joann Muller, Forbes detroit bureau chief. "People buy products, but they are also buying into brands and buying into values," said Olivier Francois, chrysler Group's chief marketing officer, in an interview with Forbes. "I think it's probably valuable to>>>try to find a connection between you and me through our shared values."
Chrysler is doing such a great job with vehicles, advertising and so much more. It is very exciting what is going on here. Stop by and check out the exciting stuff.

DODGE GRAND CARAVAN OFFERS LIMITLESS FUNCTION, GRAND VALUE!
The "limitless functionality" of the 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan "is just about enough to convert even the most vocal anti-minivan protestors among us," a review at Indiana's Fox59.com said. The "Grand Caravan (equals) grand value," the website Auto123.com said. "There's no better or more efficient use of space than the minivan. I'm hard-pressed to think of a better equipped or more spacious people-mover," the reviewer wrote.
In terms of the ability to haul copious amounts fo good and people in comfort, "the Caravan wins hands down," the BusinessInsider.com website said. "if you need utility to take people and goods places the caravan is a great choice," the Business Insider said.
The "grand" in Grand Caravan applies to more than just comfort:"practicality and versatility also factor in," Auot123.com's review said. Most appreciated while at the wheel of the Grand Caravan were its "agreeable driving dynamics, marked primarily by a smooth ride and pleasing operational polish," Auto123.com said.
The "Grand Caravan has so many family-friendly features I doubt I could cover them all in one review," the reviewer at Fox 59 said. "The second-row Stow 'n Go folding seats disappear completely into the floor, trumping all other minivans on the market" and allowing for a total of 81 seating configurations, according to the number-crunchers at Dodge, Fox 59 said.

Most Significant DODGE DART
"Considering that sedans make up 85 percent of the retail compact-car market--and that dodge hasn't had an entry in the segment since the Neon went dark in 2005--the very existence of the Dodge Dart makes it significant. The Fiat-based Dart is also a small car that hits the target dead center with bold styling, a sport=-tuned Alfa Romeo Giulietta chassis and attention to interior detail, which we think makes it a winner from the opening shot. Then the Dart doubles down with an estimated 40 mpg highway for the most efficient model and a $15,995 starting price. With a highly competitive entry in one of the most hard-fought segments in the business, we think that the Dart represents Dodge's most significant car in years."

CHRYSLER GROUP HAS BEST QUARTER SINCE 1998
The Chrsyler Croup on Thursday reported it earned $473 million in the first quarter, "exceeding its profit for all of 2011 in just three months," the New york Times reported. The profit, the largest in any quarter since the carmaker's 2009 bankruptcy, "was more than quadruple that of the same period a year ago," when it earned $116 million, the Times said.
The profits and "healthier balance sheet were driven by a 33 percent increase of global vehicle sales" in the quarter to 523,000, USA Today said. It was Chrysler's "best performance since the third quarter of 1998" when it made $682 million during the pickup truck and SUV boom, the Associated Press noted. "Not bad for a company that almost died three years ago," the AP said.
Profits at GM and Ford are forecast to be slightly lower in the first quarter and the full year, "while Chrysler sales and earnings have been particularly strong so far this year," CNNMoney.com said. "Strong showroom sales of vehicles like the Chrysler 300 and Jeep Grand Cherokee" are "another sign that its once-doubtful turnaround is gaining traction," Forbes magazine said.
Reuters noted that the Chrysler Group's global auto sales "increased 33 percent to 523,000 vehicles in the quarter, led by its home U.S. market where it gained market share on a first-quarter sales jump of 36 percent, as teh broader industry showed a gain of 13 percent."

CHRYSLER 300 NOTED FOR COMFORT, STYLE, CLASS!
The 2012 Chrysler 300 meets all the criteria for class and then some, the Washington Times said. "An excellent ride, quiet on the inside, and an engine that takes the road with ease," the Times said. The 300 sedan has been many things for Chrysler, "primarily the most successful and enduring representative of the automaker's bold, in-yer-face styling designs over the past dozen or so years," the National Post said.
Kelley Blue Book's website, KBB.com named the 300 to its list of "10 Most comfortable cars Under $30,000." "It feels right to have a big, rear drive, American sedan atop this list," KBB.com said. "The Chrysler 300 is quiet, comfortable, stylish, well-appointed luxury sedan missing just two things: the snooty badge and the sticker shock."
The 300 for 2012 has "added features, such as a new transmission option and an all-wheel drive choice," the Washington Times said. There are plenty of trim choices, the Times noted, "seven, in fact, from the base to the Limited, 300S V6, 300C, 300S V8, 300C luxury series and SRT8." "The interior, while always above par, is even more high-end in 2012," the Times said.
The National Post in Canada reviewed the 300S luxury model, and reiterated the automaker's intent to take the brand "in a new direction with world-class ride and handling, discreet exterior styling elements, contemporary interior materials and state-of-the-art technology features." In other words, the Post explains that Chrysler is yanking this 300 version off the mean streets and sending it to finishing school.
"The 300 has always had road presence, commanding a respect from other motorist like few, if any, other domestic sedans," the National Post added.

JOURNEY IS WELL-WORTH THE PRICE, REVIEWERS SAY

The revamped Dodge Journey has a lot of surprises for 2012, USA Today said, including a basic model that "has a surprising number of standard features." Lots of premium features are standard, such as keyless entry with push-button engine start--"great convenience for the handsfull way many people live," the paper said. Spiffy info screens look cool and make you feel special, USA Today said.
Endearing touches abound: The front passenger's seat cushion flihps up exposing a lined storage bin--another bin is under the floor for second-row occupants: UConnect voice-control system works with little hassle; and the dome lights are small LEDs with narrow, brilliant beams that don't distract the driver, USA Today said.
"Driving feel is satisfying," the paper said. "Journey got chassis improvements that result in flatter cornering, crisper steering, safer emergency swerves." The Journey has a lot of room, comfort and convenience for the price of a less-useful small or midsize sedan, USA Today said. A test drive proved the Journey to be an unexpectedly good vehicle, The Virginian-Pilot in Hampton Roads, VA., said.
The Journey isn't glamerous--it's the sort of vehicle that goes about its business in an unassuming manner: "its cris, conservative style is handsome and won't look outdated by the time the vehicle is paid off," the paper said.
The Journey offers a lot of vehicle for the money, especially given its newfound refinement, both in terms of handling and build quality, The Virginian-Pilot said.

MARCH SALES UP 34%
Chrysler Group LLC's U.S. auto sales rose 34 percent in March as the company reported its strongest monthly and first-quarter sales since 2008, the Wall Street Journal reported. The automaker is benefiting from a far-reaching overhaul of its model line it pushed through in 2010, the newspaper said. The company, which filed for bankruptcy in 2009, has now reported 24 straight months of the year-over-over sales gains, the Wall Street Journal reported.
A Bloomberg News headline declared "U.S. Auto Sales Gain 13 percent in March, Led by Chryser." The combination of credit availability, an improving economy, pent-up demand and even high fuel prices encouraging people to acquire newer, more fuel-efficient vehicles are all helping to ddrive industry sales," said Chrysler's U.S. sales chief Reid Bigland, in a Detroit News report. "Thanks to these factors we experienced sales strength across the baord with our March sales up 34 percent and our first quarter sales up a whopping 39 percent."
One stand out was the Fiat 500, with sales of 3,712 vehicles, compared with just 500 last March, when the subcompact was first on the market, Associated Press reported. Sales of Chrysler's 200 and 300 sedans each doubled over last March, the news service said. Both cars have recently been revamped and have better fuel economy than previous models, AP added.
USA Today, noting that Chrysler Group was the first to weigh in with March sales on Tuesday, reported that March was the automaker's best month in four years. Chrysler Group's U.S. sales jumped on strong sales of Fiat small cars and Chrysler sedans, the newspaper said.
